KCSI
is studying ways to help improve the lives of people living on or below the poverty line in Kenya, while at the same time helping to maintain or improve the environment.

These projects allow the participants to improve their lives through their own hard work, the KCSI provides the means to do this, materials, training, start-up funding, to allow these people to work for a better life, with dignity.

Our projects and various ideas can be broadly split into three groups:

  • River Cottage Kenya - a plot of land in Kisii, Kenya where we grow different crops with a view to making the Twiga Children's Centre self sufficient in food. We are also looking at fertilisers, and natural pesticides
  • Scrapheap Challenge - this is the technical bit, where we design and build things, such as an anaerobic digester to produce methane gas to be used for cooking.
  • Welfare -
